How time flies!
New years day always makes me conscious of the speed at which time passes… as do birthdays and anniversaries.
I find it hard to believe that it was 13 years ago on this day that I moved in to my 1st “warehouse” space which was on Spadina Ave. just off Queen St.West.
I find it hard to believe that it was 10 years ago on this day that I closed down my first Retail Shop. Kingdom was it’s name and it was located in Toronto at 687 Yonge St. (Between Bloor and Charles)
It was a men’s and ladies Clubwear/Streetwear apparel store that featured collections mostly from Toronto, New York and L.A. The space was 12 feet wide by 100 feet deep and had a unique frontage. It opened July 15, 1994 and was to an extent my life’s passion and identity…
Unfortunately I didn’t keep pictures of the place to share on my blog… but I am lucky that I get the see the space often enough. Although it officially forever closed on December 31, 1996 it had become more of a shadow of it’s former self… having burned down earlier that year in March and been somewhat revived by September… and struggled to it’s end in December.
At the time I would have said money was the problem… but in hindsight it was a lack of desire! Oddly enough I believe I was captured by the E-myth… which was published in 1995 but I only read in 2005. I would recommend the book to anyone and everyone who is looking to open their first business! (link to indigo coming soon)
I find it hard to believe that it was 5 years ago on this day that I officially decided to LaunchPOS as my long term goal!
I guess I should stop finding these hard to believe 🙂 It is how life goes… time flies!!!
“Today I will multiply my value a hundredfold” and “I will live this day as if it is my last” and I will achieve the goals I set… and set the goals I wish to achieve!
