Today begins the first week of this course and I’m very excited!
The Definition of Marketing (AMA 1986) is:
“The process of planning and executing the conception, pricing, promotion, and distribution of ideas, goods, and services to create exchanges that satisfy individual and organizational objectives.”
Before reading this sentence… I didn’t quite realize the scope associated with “marketing” but now that I do… watch out 😉
Today I focused on writing my introduction to the group. The teacher asked we lead with our birthday as his assumption as there would be a matching pair!
My name is Marc Wagner and I was born August 2, 1969 which makes me a 37 year old Leo / Rooster.
I am passionate about transforming information technology into digital intelligence. I have dedicated my life to learning and more specifically to the study of retailing. As an entrepreneur I innovate and deliver solutions that help independent retailers achieve prosperity. Empowered by our partners Microsoft, HP and other great companies, my organization currently focuses on POS (point of sale) and BI (Business Intelligence) solutions.
Although practical experience and street smarts will get you somewhere in life… I am looking at using Ryerson to add some academic credibility to my personal resume. The outline for this course seems promising and this group will undoubtedly make this a great experience!

P.S. Apparently this is the 2nd most read part of a written communication… so I will use this opportunity to wish everyone great success in this course and with your life goals!
